Annular Solar Eclipse on June 21, 2020   (Glimpses)

The total eclipse of the sun occurs when, the moon moves directly in front of the sun. However, unlike a total solar eclipse, the moon during an annular eclipse is too far away to completely over the solar disk. Hence the Sun appears as a very bright ring, or annulus, surrounding the dark disk of the Moon.

On June 21, 2020 an annular/partial solar eclipse will be visible in the most parts of the world. The annular phase of this solar eclipse will be visible from parts of Africa including the Central African Republic, Congo, and Ethiopia; southern part of Pakistan and northern India; and China.

In Pakistan, the annular solar eclipse will be visible on the strip covering Gwadar, Larkana and Sukker. Weather permitting, people in these areas will see the characteristic ring of fire. Rest of the country will witness the partial solar eclipse.
