The centre has a carefully maintained Museum (repository) with more than 9000 specimens, Preservation room, Wet laboratory to conduct research on live specimen, Ichthyology and Pollution lab, Mangrove lab, Molluscan lab, Plankton lab, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) room, Photographic lab, an Auditorium and Museum library with more than 3000 books, journals, reports, proceedings etc. A shore laboratory/Marine Research Station situated at Sandspit beach is also part of Marine Reference Collection and Resource Centre.
