In the present era, technology has brought revolutionary changes in every walk of life which is very beneficial for everyone. In this regard if the Uniform Semester Examination System is enforced in every university it would provide the students great and prospective facilities of national and international level of advance studies. These views were expressed by Prof. Dr. Anila Ambar Malik, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ali Ansari and Prof. Muhammad Ali at two days orientation workshop on HEC Policy Guidelines for the Implementation of Uniform Semester Examination System jointly organized by HEC Pakistan and University of Karachi Prof. Dr. Anila Ambar Malik, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ali Ansari and Prof. Muhammad Ali briefed the participants about the policies regarding Uniform Semester Examination System. Prof. Dr. Anila further added that if the proposals proposed in the workshops regarding the enforcement of Uniform Semester Examination System are implemented then the problems faced by the students on the international level would be resolved. In concluding session Registrar KU Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan thanked all the guests and said that the holding of this workshop with collaboration with HEC is a highly commendable and I hope that this would be continued in future. Dean Faculty of Science KU Prof. Dr. Viqar Hussain distributed the certificates to the participants.

KU Signs MoU with CIMA

The University of Karachi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) based in London, UK on Friday, June 12. The MoU was signed between Karachi University Business School and CIMA. Mr. Bradley Emerson, Regional Director CIMA (for Middle East, South Asia & North America) and Dr. Danish Siddiqui, Chairman KUBS signed on behalf of their respective institutions. The ceremony was held at the office of Dean, Faculty of Management & Administrative Sciences, University of Karachi. On this occasion the Dean, Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi said the agreement will offer a faster track for the KU graduates to acquire CIMA professional qualification and support them in successfully meeting the challenges of the business profession. Appreciating the supportive role of Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Qaiser in this agreement he added that university-corporate industry relations and collaborations has acquire increased significance in present times. Mr. Emerson said that this memo will promote collaboration between the KU and the accounting professional bodies like CIMA while the CIMA would offer gold medal awards, fee exemptions and some scholarships annually to the KUBS students.

Controller Examinations Prof. Dr. Arshad Azmi has notified that the last date for the submission of the enrollment forms B.Ed and M.Ed for session 2014-2015 has been extended till 24th June, 2015 with the late fees of Rs. 1000/=. Students may submit enrolment forms along with the fees Rupees 2500 =/ in the form of pay order in the favor of University of Karachi at their respective colleges.

This is to further clarify that after 27th June, 2015 no more enrolment form and fees would be accepted.
