International Sofi Conference

International Sofi Conference organized by Idara-e-Salook-ul-Sofia and faculty of social sciences, University of Karachi under the patronage of dean faculty of social sciences and member syndicate Uok Professor Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Qadri will be held on Tuesday 2nd May 2017 at 11:00 am at Arts Auditorium. Professor Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan, vice chancellor will be the chief guest. As many as 12 foreign Islamic scholars will participate in the conference.
Students of UoK Clinch First Position in All Sindh Trilingual Declamation Contest

Students of University of Karachi, Hina Sodhar, M. Ammar Abbasi and Moiz Ahmed secured first position as a team in 2nd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed All Sindh Tri-lingual Declamation Contest organized by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana. There were 25 teams from different education institutions of Sindh. A ceremony was held at Students' Advisor Office KU, where the winning team was appreciated by the students' advisor Dr. Ghazal Khawaja Hummayun and the members of students' advisory council.

Seminar on Earth Day Campaign of the Year: Environmental and Climate Literacy organized by Department of Geography, University of Karachi at Arts auditorium on 22nd April 2017 at 10:00 am. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan will be the chief guest. Keynote address will be delivered by Meritorious Professor, Dr. Jamil Hasan Kazmi. Other speakers include Dr. Salman Zubair, Dr. Badar Ghauri, head of Institute of Space technology Islamabad, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Aisha Siddiqui, Saima Ahmed, Sadaf Asad, Aisha Aziz and Agha Daniyal.
Papers Postponed

Controller Examinations, UoK has notified that all papers of B.D.S & M.B.B.S 3rd Prof. Annual Examinations 2017 and B.A.LLB (Hons) Annual Examinations 2016 scheduled to be held on 14th and 15th April 2017 has been postponed on account of UoK Annual Convocation. New date of these papers will be announced later.
KU Disowns Fraud Emails of Jobs Claiming Money

Public Relations Officer KU has strongly disowned the emails circulating from a fake account (careers.uok@post.com) claiming to offer jobs at the varsity and asking to pay money. University of Karachi clarifies that these emails are fraud and have nothing to do with the varsity. Concerned ones are instructed in their own interest to ignore such emails otherwise KU will not bear any responsibility.
Sindh at the Crossroad of Success Through CPEC

seminar entitled "Sindh at the Crossroad of success through CPEC" organized by Institute of Sustainable Halophyte Utilization, University of Karachi will be held on Thursday 6th April 2017 at 9:30 am at Arts Auditorium KU. Vice Chancellor KU Professor Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan will preside the occasion while Mr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Secretary to Chief Minister, Universities and Boards will be the guest of honor. Director General, Sindh Board of Investment Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Qureshi, political analyst and lawyer Javed Qazi and retired federal secretary, government of Pakistan Fazalullah Qureshi will also speak on the occasion. The purpose of the seminar is to create awareness about the socioeconomic impacts of CPEC particularly for Sindh. The seminar will highlight the importance of CPEC in alleviating poverty, ways of achieving revenue generation and environmental improvement with special emphasis to Sindh.
